Princess Beatrice and Princess Kate’s once go-to fashion brand is to cease trading “with immediate effect.”
The Vampire’s Wife, an edgy dress brand owned by model Susie Cave, has issued a heartfelt statement announcing the decision to close due to “the upheaval in the wholesale market.”
The brand was created by musician Nick Cave’s wife and worn by many celebrities including the Princess of Wales and Princess Beatrice.
The news of the closure was broken by London’s legendary ‘It’ girl Susie on social media who said it was with “great sadness” that it was “time for me to say goodbye” to her creation.

A statement on the company website read: “Despite a period of positive growth and sales, the upheaval in the wholesale market has had dramatic implications for the brand.
“The Vampire’s Wife, therefore, announces that it has sadly made the decision to cease trading with immediate effect.”

She wore the same dress during a visit to Dublin and also wore a pink floor-length dress by The Vampire’s Wife, for a reception in Belize.

The statement continued: “There will be a final, physical sale, allowing fans of the brand to make one last opportunity to buy, on the 24th, 25th and 26th of May at the Music Room, Mayfair, London, W1J 5KF.
“The Vampire’s Wife would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all clients, partners and those who have worn the brand these last ten years. Your support has been invaluable and we are deeply grateful.”
Princess Beatrice has also worn the brand on multiple engagements including for a recent appearance at an industry event at Spotify’s London office.
The princess wore the brand’s Veneration Floral Print Silk Charmeuse Midi Dress paired with Jimmy Choo burgundy velvet pumps.

Beatrice also wore a stunning, blue shimmering dress from The Vampire’s Wife collection when she stepped out with her mother Sarah Ferguson in New York City.
Brand dresses sell between £970 for a velvet dress and £1,595 for a floor-length gown.
The news of the company’s closure comes a year after the brand revealed that it was facing liquidation over an unpaid tax bill.
The company’s debt was understood to have grown during the Covid pandemic, however, last year the label said it had settled the debt with the tax office through financing from existing investors.
