The Princess Royal chose to leave by car with her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence

Princess Anne was seen using an umbrella for support as she departed the Easter Sunday service at Windsor Castle today.

The Princess Royal chose to leave by car with her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, while other members of the Royal Family walked from St George's Chapel.


Anne had also arrived by car for the traditional service, travelling alongside her husband as well as Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

It is not known why the Princess Royal left via a car, but GB News has contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.

King Charles and Queen Camilla similarly used vehicles for their arrival and departure, though they travelled separately from the other royals.

The rest of the family members in attendance opted to walk both to and from the chapel.

The Duke and Duchess of York departed on foot shortly behind Prince Edward and Sophie, despite having arrived by car with Princess Anne.

Among those attending were the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Prince Edward and Sophie.

Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson made a surprise appearance at the gathering.

Also present were the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh's son, James, the Earl of Wessex.

Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank joined the service, as did Princess Beatrice with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

The Duke and Duchess of York, despite arriving by car with Princess Anne, chose to walk when leaving the chapel, following behind Prince Edward and Sophie.

Several key members of the Royal Family were notably absent from the Easter service.

The Prince and Princess of Wales did not attend, with sources revealing that Prince William had informed the King of his intention to "enjoy some extended time as a family over Easter".

The Waleses recently returned from a skiing holiday in the French Alps with their three children.

Lady Louise Windsor, the eldest daughter of Sophie and Edward, was also missing as she continues her studies at St Andrews University.

Zara Tindall, her husband Mike and their three children Mia, Lena and Lucas were absent.

Her brother Peter Phillips and his daughters Savannah and Isla did not attend either.
