Princess Anne wore a subtle tribute to Scotland at their game against France as she greeted the Six Nations team.
The Princes Royal shook hands with Scottish rugby players at Murrayfield stadium in Edinburgh ahead of their game against France.
In solidarity with Scotland, the princess wore a matching blue trouser suit to reflect the Scottish team colours but also made another tribute with a weather-appropriate accessory.
The Princess Royal was spotted wearing a dark navy and green tartan scarf around her neck during the game in a touching tribute to the nation her mother loved so much.
The Princess Royal has been patron of the Scottish Rugby Union since June 1986 and regularly attends home and away games and visits team training sessions.

Scotland lost their game against France on Saturday 16-20 despite a strong first-half performance from the Scottish players.
After the game, Princess Anne shook hands with France’s Charles Ollivon as he was presented with the Auld Alliance Trophy.
To brave the cold, the princess wore two scarves on the sidelines as well as a warm macron jacket and black gloves.
Anne rarely misses a Scotland game; last year the princess wore two tartan scarves as she presented the Cuttitta Cup to Scotland player Jamie Ritchie.

The royal often wears tartan for Scottish rugby games at home and when the team travels to other countries.
Princess Anne’s son-in-law, Mike Tindall, is a former rugby player and enjoys chatting with Anne about the game.
Mike Tindall once said: “She has a great sense of humour and she is very knowledgeable about many things, especially rugby.”
Princess Anne has kept up her busy schedule of royal engagements after a troubling week for the royals.

On Monday, Buckingham Palace announced that the King has a form of cancer but did not disclose what type.
But Princess Anne has continued her royal duties and visited a pony centre in London on Thursday.
At Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre the princess remained in high spirits joking to the audience as she cut a cake.
Anne said: “The instructions on it are you will eat it if I cut it,” she said, whilst laughing and holding a knife.
“Because otherwise it’s just legalised vandalism. Enjoy the cake.”
