The Royal Family have issued a touching tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth and "all mothers" to mark Mother's Day.

The official social media page also acknowledged "those who are missing" theirs on the major annual celebration.

The second image remembered the Queen’s late mother, Rosalind, with her eldest grandson, Tom.

Queen Elizabeth II was a mother of four to King Charles, Prince Andrew, Princess Anne and Prince Edward.

She served as the Queen of England from February 6, 1952, until her death in September 2022.

Elizabeth's reign of 70 years and 214 days is the longest of any British monarch, the second-longest of any sovereign state, and the longest of any queen regnant in history.

Her death led to a national period of mourning, with tributes pouring in from across the globe.

The message was posted shortly before Princess Kate marked Mother's Day by reflecting on her close "bond" with nature.

Alongside a personal video of several natural environments across the UK, the Princess of Wales reinforced her message of the benefits of nature that has been her "sanctuary" since announcing she was diagnosed with cancer in March last year.

Kate wrote: "Over the past year, nature has been our sanctuary.

"This Mother’s Day, let us celebrate Mother Nature and recognise how our bond with the natural world can help not only nurture our inner selves, but remind us too of the role we play within the rich tapestry of life."

The Princess of Wales signed the message with her personal "C", meaning the message came directly from Catherine.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were not seen in the message to mark the major occasion.

The video used shots from Kate's video in September, filmed by Will Warr in Norfolk, where the Wales family resides, where the princess revealed that she had completed preventative chemotherapy treatment and was looking forward to returning to work.

Although Kate and William both appear in the video, their faces are not visible.
