King Charles and Princess Anne have joined forces at St James's Palace today to honour exceptional individuals working in the criminal justice system.
The royal duo met winners of the 40th Annual Butler Trust Awards at a special reception on Tuesday, March 25.
The prestigious awards celebrate outstanding people working in prisons, probation and youth justice across the UK.
The event marks a significant royal engagement for the King and his sister, who serves as Patron of The Butler Trust.

Prior to the reception, Princess Anne presented 10 Awards and 20 Commendations to this year's winners at the Trust's Annual Award Ceremony.
The Princess Royal has been Patron of The Butler Trust since its creation in 1985, established in memory of former Home Secretary Richard Austin Butler, Baron Butler of Saffron Walden.
She has hosted the annual awards every year since the Trust's inception.
The Butler Trust works to promote excellence in UK prisons, probation, and youth justice by recognising outstanding practice.

Among this year's winners was Humphrey Agbukor, a Probation Officer in London, recognised for his unwavering commitment to rehabilitation.
Gerry Bowman, a Youth Justice Worker with Gateshead Youth Justice Service, was also honoured for his tireless professionalism.
Other recipients included Chloe Causier-Bayliss, Daniel Diamond, Kay Turner, Ian Harvey, Sharon Jenkins, Barbara Randall and Harjit Singh Gill.
Each winner demonstrated exceptional dedication to transforming lives within the justice system.

Jonathan Firth, an Officer at HMP Swaleside, was also recognised for his exceptional work spanning over 30 years.
Firth received the prestigious Princess Royal's Prize for Outstanding Achievement, awarded to the most outstanding winner of the year.
First presented in 2010, the recipient of this special prize remains a secret until it is announced at the end of the Ceremony.
He was commended for his "unparalleled skill and compassion in working with some of the most challenging individuals in the estate".
