Princess Anne has suffered a bruised leg following an incident at her Gatcombe Park Estate in Gloucestershire.

The 74-year-old royal was seen hobbling and in visible pain when she accompanied King Charles to church on Easter Sunday.

Social media commentators noted that Anne appeared to avoid waiting to exchange pleasantries with the Dean of Windsor following the service.

Instead, she squeezed past the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, who were chatting with the cleric, and walked straight to her car.

Her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, did stop briefly for pleasantries.

While mystery initially surrounded her condition, sources have told the Mail that the Princess Royal was suffering from "a bit of a bruised leg".

The injury reportedly resulted from an incident at Gatcombe Park a few days before Easter Sunday.

No further details about what happened have been disclosed, and she is not believed to have required medical treatment for the injury.

This incident comes just ten months after Anne was hospitalised for five nights with a concussion following a serious accident at the same estate.

Anne has admitted she has no recollection of the incident.
