The Prince of Wales met a famous cricketer in Leeds

Prince William has been praised for his "heartwarming" appearance on an ITV documentary about the 75th anniversary of the Windrush generation arriving in the UK.

The Prince of Wales, 41, met Alford Gardner during the documentary. He is a Windrush passenger who came to the UK and opened the first Caribbean cricket club in 1948.

The cricketer, 97, came to Britain on the HMT Windrush as part of the Government's plan to rebuild society after World War Two.

Now, Gardner is one of only two surviving passengers from the ship, and he has played cricket with the heir to the throne.
