Prince William has been branded a "man on a mission" as the Prince of Wales visits New York for the start of New York Climate Week.
Speaking on Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel, GB News Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker gave his insight into the royal's trip to the US.
Walker said: "Prince William is a man on a mission as the timing of his second visit to the United States within the space of a year is very deliberate, because it is the start of New York Climate Week and it is also the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. And he has been dubbed in the papers recently as a global statesman in the making.
“A recent poll for Gallop suggested that Prince William is the most popular public figure amongst Americans, way ahead of Donald Trump and way ahead of President Biden as well. And the whole theme of his engagements this week is really about the environment and particularly climate change as well."
He continued: “The highlight, I suppose, is the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit happening on Tuesday, where the 15 finalists of this year's Earthshot Prize will be unveiled. The different categories are Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans, Build A Waste Free World, and Fix Our Climates. And these 15 finalists are going to unveil and showcase their solutions to repair our planet over the next decades.
"The Earthshot Prize is a prize that Prince William founded a few years ago. There's also expected to be some very high profile guest speakers, including Bill Gates, Michael R Bloomberg, who sponsors the event and also former Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern.”
