The Prince of Wales took a break from public duties following Kate's cancer announcement
Prince William made a vow to look after Princess Kate during his first royal engagement since his wife announced she had been diagnosed with cancer.
The Princess of Wales announced in March during an emotional video message that she had received preventative chemotherapy treatment after cancer was found in tests following her abdominal surgery.
Prince William took a break from public duties following the announcement but he has returned to work today.
The Prince of Wales visited the surplus food distribution charity Surplus to Supper in Surrey and looked to be in good spirits during the engagement.

Royal fans came to support Prince William during his first engagement back.
William was given two get well soon cards addressed to King Charles and Princess Kate by volunteer Rachel Candappa, 71.
The Prince of Wales said: "Thank you, you are very kind" and added when Rachel told him to look after the Princess of Wales: "I will".
Speaking afterwards the volunteer said: "I said take care of her [Kate] and he said 'I will'.

Princess Kate has not undertaken any public duties in 2024 and is not expected to return to royal engagements for the foreseeable future.
Kensington Palace released Kate's video message confirming her diagnosis on the evening of March 22nd.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis broke up for Easter from Lambrook School on the same date.
The young royals returned to school on Wednesday ahead of William's first engagement back today.
The royal is spotlighting the impact community and environment organisations across Surrey and West London are having in the area.
