Princess Kate left hospital last week following an abdominal operation at The London Clinic

Prince William will return to work after caring for Kate as she continues to recover at home.

The princess left The London Clinic last week where she spent 13 days following an abdominal operation.

On Wednesday evening, The Prince of Wales will attend the London Air Ambulance annual fundraising Gala in Central London.

The Prince became patron of London’s Air Ambulance in March 2020 after supporting the charity’s 30th anniversary in 2019.

Last week it was revealed that the prince would not resume royal duties until the Princess of Wales was recovering well.

The Prince of Wales has been looking after his wife "hand and foot" since leaving hospital according to former royal butler, Grant Harrold.

But now the Prince is set to get back to work conducting an investiture at Windsor Castle this Wednesday.

The princess is not expected to return to work until after Easter; since the news of Kate’s health came to light, Kensington Palace informed the princess’s 30 charities that they would need to postpone engagements.

In 2019, the prince supported the 30th anniversary of the London Air Ambulance charity flying with a crew to launch the 30 Years Saving Lives campaign.

Jonathon Jenkins, SEO of London's Air Ambulance Charity stated: "We are honoured that The Prince of Wales has chosen to become Patron of London’s Air Ambulance charity after getting to know us last year.

"The Prince truly understands our work and knows that every second counts in an emergency.

"We know that with his help as well as the continued support of the public, our crews can reach those who need them most - serving the people of London 24 hours a day, every day of the year."

Last week, Princess Anne, Queen Camilla and the Duchess of Edinburgh were the only senior royals performing public duties as Kate and the King recovered from hospital procedures.

Prince Edward is also taking a break from royal duties as he returns from a trip to South Africa and Saint Helena.

The King is set for a period of recuperation following his recent prostate treatment where he spent three days recovering at The London Clinic.

Charles was spotted for the first time yesterday as he and the Queen attended a Sunday church service at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham.
