The Prince and Princess of Wales limit their royal engagements over the Easter half-term break

Prince William is set to make a public appearance next week without Princess Kate, following a short break from royal duties.

The Prince of Wales, 42, suffered heartache as he watched Aston Villa crash out of the Champions League quarter-final with Prince George.

Despite the Midlands side beating PSG 3-2 on Tuesday, Villa lost 5-4 on aggregate following a 3-1 defeat to the French champions last week at the Parc des Princes.

William took Prince George to both fixtures as the 11-year-old is currently on an Easter half-term break from school.

Princess Kate and William limit their royal engagements over the school holidays to spend time with their three children.

The Princess of Wales has stressed that she will continue to prioritise her health and family as she makes a gradual return to royal duties.

Since the future Queen announced she had been diagnosed with cancer in March 2024, she has taken a step back from her work.

William will visit Mentivity, an organisation dedicated to empowering young people through access to quality youth services and safe spaces, on April 24.

Founded in 2016, Mentivity engages over 400 local young people each week through various programmes.

Prince William will visit Mentivity House, the organisation's community centre on the Aylesbury Estate in south London.

The centre, which opened in March 2024, provides space for creativity and growth, offering workshops, youth clubs and community initiatives, including food and hygiene banks.

During his visit, His Royal Highness will meet Mentivity founders Sayce Holmes-Lewis and Leon Wright, who grew up on the Aylesbury Estate themselves.

The prince will spend time with young people supported by the organisation and participate in some of their activities.

He will also join a roundtable hosted by entrepreneur Tim Campbell MBE, a former winner and current advisor on The Apprentice, who recently became a Mentivity patron.

The discussion will explore apprenticeship opportunities, barriers facing young people, and how local businesses can create sustainable employment routes.
