The Daily Wire host weighed up the prospect of the couple setting up a “base” in the US

Prince William and Kate should avoid frequenting the US as it could tarnish their brand, according to Candace Owens.

The Daily Wire host weighed up the prospect of the couple setting up a “base” in the US, questioning whether they would chime better with the American public than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

She told GB News that Kate and William would struggle to mesh due to the contentious social climate in America.

“I don’t know if they would go down much better [than the Sussexes] in America because of the political climate”, she said.

“I don’t know that anybody does well in America, to be honest with you, because we are at one another’s throats.

“At this moment the public does like Will and Kate, I think a part of it is due to how gracefully they handle everything.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

“There is something about their quiet dignity that has been very much asserted, and Americans do like the royals.”

It comes after an application was filed on May 12 for ‘The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales’ - registered at Prince William and Princess Kate’s London address, Kensington Palace - with the US’s Patent and Trademark Office.

The Royal Foundation is responsible for the couple’s charity work and aims to use research and long-term partnerships to garner positive impacts on social challenges.

Owens has praise for the couple, particularly Kate, of whom she delivered a glowing assessment.

“Kate has been so wonderful and so endearing”, she said.

“It’s anybody’s guess as to whether or not they set up a US base. I would imagine they probably wouldn’t frequent here anyway.”

She continued by issuing a warning to Kate and William, saying should the couple opt to embrace the US limelight, they could end up following a similar path to Harry and Meghan.

“People are going to want to get a peek at the royals because that is something you gravitate towards, the mystery of it”, she said.

“You wonder what they’re talking about at breakfast, lunch, dinner, you’re peeking behind the blinds, and thinking ‘they must be having these wildly imaginative conversations’.

“Unfortunately then, you hear Harry speaking and think, ‘oh gosh, they’re like the Kardashians’.

“William and Kate still have that factor of mystery that is really appealing, don’t Americanise yourself.

“That is what I would do say if they are going to do it.”
