The Prince of Wales is 6ft 2ins tall

Prince William's visit to Lower Blakemere Farm on the Duchy of Cornwall estate yesterday left one tenant farmer particularly struck by the royal's stature.

The Prince of Wales visited the Hereford farm to learn about their pioneering regenerative farming practices and journey towards net zero.

Heather Gorringe, who has been a Duchy tenant farmer since 2000, expressed surprise at the Prince's height during his Tuesday visit.

She said: "He's such a nice guy, isn't he?"

Gorringe also noted that she hadn't realised quite how tall the Prince is.

The royal, who is 6ft 2ins, appeared to make a strong impression during his tour of the farm.

Gorringe added: "He seems really down to earth - and miles taller than I ever imagined.

"And he loved the worms, so that was really great."

Gorringe, who previously met William and King Charles at St James's Palace, reflected on the differences between father and son.

She said: "It's a new generation.

"We went to the handover between King Charles and the prince at St. James's Palace, and it struck me that they were different in the sense that, for King Charles, farming is in his blood.

"He is a farmer."

She praised William's commitment to environmental causes at the Duchy.

Gorringe told People: "Having met Prince William on the farm today, I can see how important the Duchy is to him, and also that he is committed to a sustainable future."

She highlighted his environmental work, adding: "You only have to look at what he's doing with the Earthshot Prize to know he's on that route.

"The things we are doing here are up his street."
