The Queen will jet off on a private flight on Monday

Prince William will be supported by Prince Edward this week as Queen Camilla takes a break from royal duties.

The Queen has been leading the Royal Family in the absence of King Charles following the monarch's cancer diagnosis.

However, Camilla is now set for a short holiday outside of the UK to recharge after undertaking a plethora of royal engagements throughout February.

The Prince of Wales is expected to step up in her absence and lead the Royal Family as the exhausted Queen goes on holiday.

Camilla is said to be buoyed by the public's reaction to her leading the Royal Family over the last few weeks.

A royal source told The Times: "Although she was not expecting to find herself in the position of leading the family, the Queen is absolutely prepared to do whatever needs to be done for the institution.

"She has found reserves of energy that even she didn't think she had, and the estimation of her by those inside the palace has soared as she has put her shoulder to the wheel."

Prince William took a short break from public duties following his wife Princess Kate's abdominal surgery.

The Princess of Wales had the operation in January and spent two weeks in the London Clinic following the procedure.

Kate has now returned to her Windsor home where she is continuing her recovery process.

The Princess of Wales is not expected to return to public duties until after Easter.
