The Prince and Princess of Wales have quietly boosted their Royal Foundation
Prince William and Princess Kate have appointed the former producer of Call the Midwife as the director of their Royal Foundation.
Dame Pippa Harris will also direct the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund Trustee Company. This move comes as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to present themselves as a celebrity power couple in California.
Harris, 56, and Sir Sam Mendes, 58, co-founded the thriving film studio Neal Street Productions.
Along with collaborating on Call the Midwife, they also worked together to create Revolutionary Road, which starred Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, and 1917, a World War I epic for which they won two Baftas and a Golden Globe.
Harris serves as the chairman of the Bafta Awards, whose royal patron is Prince William.
Prince Harry was a founding member of the Royal Foundation, and there were worries that if he and Meghan Markle left in 2020, the organisation would suffer.
However, the foundation has continued to thrive, despite the departure of the Sussexes from the UK.
In 2021, its revenue skyrocketed to an astounding £11.78 million.

This is double the amount raised in 2019, while the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were still involved, at £6.68million.
According to recently released accounts, the revenue for 2022 was £10.1million.
The Prince and Princess of Wales's interests, particularly in the fields of early childhood, mental health, and the environment, are taken into consideration when the foundation creates projects and initiatives.
Lord William Hague, a former Tory leader, stepped down from politics to focus on his duties as head of the Royal Foundation in September 2020.
