The Princess of Wales confirmed in a statement on Tuesday that she is in remission

The Prince of Wales has been announced as the new Patron of the College of Paramedics and will attend their first-ever Emergency and Critical Care Conference in Birmingham.

The conference will focus on supporting emergency responders in making crucial decisions under pressure, drawing on Prince William's extensive experience in emergency services.

The announcement marks a significant development for the College, which received its Royal Charter from King Charles III in February 2024.

The College of Paramedics, established in 2001, serves as a membership organisation for UK paramedics registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

The organisation has particularly focused on supporting paramedics' mental health and wellbeing since its inception.

The College achieved a significant milestone when it was granted the Royal Charter of Incorporation by King Charles III in February 2024.

Prince William brings significant first-hand experience to his new role, having served as both an Air Ambulance and RAF Search and Rescue pilot.

His commitment to emergency services extends beyond operational duties, particularly through his establishment of the Emergency Responder Senior Leaders Board in 2018.

The Board was created following research by The Royal Foundation, Kings College London and the Open University, which identified the need for unified approaches to protecting emergency workers' mental health.
