The Prince of Wales met with the Secret Intelligence Service

Prince William made a top-secret visit to MI6 and only confirmed why after the mission was complete.

The Prince of Wales met with the Secret Intelligence Service on Thursday and only appeared afterwards in the Court Circular, which is the daily list of royal engagements.

On the website, it said "The Prince of Wales this afternoon visited the Secret Intelligence Service" with no location or details.

Kensington Palace has declined to comment on the visits.

In 2019, William spent three weeks working with MI5, MI6 and GCHQ to learn about how the UK’s security and intelligence agencies worked.

At the time he said: “Spending time inside our security and intelligence agencies, understanding more about the vital contribution they make to our national security, was a truly humbling experience.

"These agencies are full of people from everyday backgrounds doing the most extraordinary work to keep us safe.”

This comes after one of the Prince of Wales' recent trips has sparked a backlash from royal fans.

Earlier this week it was announced that the Prince of Wales, 41, will travel to Germany to cheer on England at the Euro 2024 tournament next week.

Kensington Palace confirmed that William will watch Gareth Southgate's side take on Denmark at the Frankfurt Arena on Thursday, June 20.

The heir-to-the-throne, who will celebrate his 42nd birthday the following day, is not expected to be accompanied by any other members of the Royal Family.

The Princess of Wales is currently away from public duties due to her ongoing cancer treatment.

In addition, the match will fall on a school night for Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

William, president of the Football Association, faced criticism last year for not attending the Women's World Cup final in Australia when the Lionesses lost to Spain.

It was the first time the Lionesses had reached the final of a World Cup, and the first time an England football team had competed in a World Cup final since the men's side beat West Germany in 1966.
