England have never won the European Football Championship

Prince William and King Charles are set for a historic meeting with the England squad.

The Prince of Wales will attend the Euro 2024 final on Sunday in his role as the President of the Football Association.

England will face Spain in the highly anticipated contest as Gareth Southgate bids to become the first Three Lions manager to win the Euros.

Spain has won two editions of the Euros in the 21st century with back-to-back triumphs coming in 2008 and 2012.

England and Spain have not faced off against each other in a major tournament in men's football since 1996.

If England wins the tournament the squad will have a historic meeting with King Charles and Prince William.

There are also plans for an open-top bus parade through the streets of London on Tuesday.

The route would take England to Buckingham Palace, where Southgate and his players would be honoured at a reception with the two royals.

The Prince of Wales missed England's final group stage game against Slovenia as he was supporting King Charles during the State Visit of the Emperor and Empress of Japan.

The President of the FA also missed England's dramatic 2-1 victory over Slovakia in the extra time.
