Prince William is under pressure to speak out on the England men's football shirt row.
England’s new football kit for the European Championships has sparked controversy over its new design.
The St George’s Cross on the back of the collar has been changed from traditional red to a multicoloured pattern.
There have been calls for Prince William to comment on the £125 football kit as president of the Football Association.

But when contacted Kensington Palace denied to comment on the St George’s Cross row.
Speaking to GB News, Lee Anderson said that the prince should follow in the late Queen’s footsteps and keep out of the row.
He said: “I think William should take a leaf out of his late great-grandmother’s book and keep his nose out of stuff like this.”
The reform UK MP also told The Daily Express that the decision was a “virtue-signalling woke nonsense” and that “the left have a nerve to ask me why I want my country back.”

Anderson continued: “This virtue signalling, namby-pamby, pearl-clutching woke nonsense must stop. Any more of this and I’ll be on the first flight to Rwanda.”
Nike commented on the new flag design on X, formerly known as Twitter, stating: “A playful update to the St. George appears on the collar to unite and inspire.”
They also said that the colourful flag was in recognition of England’s 1966 World Cup triumph.
A spokesperson said: “The England 2024 Home kit disrupts history with a modern take on a classic.

“The trim on the cuffs takes its cues from the training gear worn by England’s 1966 heroes, with a gradient of blues and reds topped with purple. The same colours also feature an interpretation of the flag of St. George on the back of the collar.”
Nigel Farage also commented on the new design calling it an “absolute joke.”
He said on GB News: “It bears no relationship to the St George’s Cross whatsoever.
“If the England football team think that’s acceptable, well, why on earth would you be apologetic about Englishness if you’re going to play for England in the European football finals? I think it’s an absolute joke.”

However, England's football players have spoken out in support of the new kit and its design.
Phil Foden, who plays for Manchester City and the England National team, said it may be the best kit yet.
He said: “What a kit. It is my favourite kit so far.”
Lioness striker Alessia Russo also said: “I really like it. It is retro. I would give it a ten out of ten.”
