Prince William undertook a royal engagement in Hereford on Tuesday after attending a Holocaust Memorial Day event in London with the Princess of Wales on Monday.

The Prince of Wales visited Lower Blakemere Farm in Hereford to learn about their pioneering regenerative farming practices and journey towards net zero.

The farm is one of seven Focus Farms within the Duchy of Cornwall's initiative to share knowledge about greener farming practices.

Established in the early 1980s, the 630-acre Herefordshire farm began as a specialist seed grower with South Devon cattle.

The farm has since transformed its approach, embracing regenerative farming methods that focus on restoring soil health and enhancing biodiversity.

These sustainable practices align with the farm's long-term vision for environmental stewardship.

Tenant farmers Phil and Heather Gorringe, along with their son Monty, have diversified the farm's operations through innovative projects.

The family has transformed their old grain store into a community event space and established a thriving composting business.

The prince also joined the family on a walk to view their composting initiatives.

Lower Blakemere Farm plays a key role in the Upper Wye Valley Ridge to River project, led jointly by the Duchy of Cornwall and Moccas Estate.

During his visit, Prince William met with Ridge to River steering group members to discuss the project's progress.

The initiative unites 16 local farms in a collaborative effort to create a resilient landscape of woodlands, parkland, meres, farmland and floodplains.

The project aims to boost biodiversity and protect water resources while contributing to climate mitigation throughout the Wye Valley.

These initiatives support the Duchy of Cornwall's ambitious target to achieve net zero across its entire estate by the end of 2032.

Lower Blakemere Farm demonstrates how traditional farming can evolve to meet modern environmental challenges through sustainable practices.
