The prince visited the Welsh town to mark St David’s Day- the patron saint of Wales.
It comes after the royal missed a memorial service Tuesday for his late godfather, King Constantine, for “personal reasons.”
During his tour of the school, William was shown traditional ways of marking the day including Welsh folk dancing and baking Bara Brith, a Welsh bread.
William also met with children who were learning about the Gresford Mining Disaster, an event where 266 men were killed in an explosion in September 1934.

At the pub, the prince poured a pint and downed a whisky with the American actor who co-owns Wrexham AFC.
The prince joked: “That might settle in a couple of hours, talk amongst yourselves.”
William was also presented with a daffodil by three-year-old Florence Boyle from California as he met crowds in front of the football club.
