Prince William is set to take a break from his royal duties to support Princess Kate, despite returning to work on Wedndesday, according to a source.
The source revealed that although the prince returned to royal duties today, he will continue to support his wife and look after his children during the half-term holiday.
Princess Kate is currently recovering at Adelaide Cottage after undergoing an abdominal operation at The London Clinic.
The source said: “The Prince has always made clear that his priority is to support his wife and family for the time being – and he did not put a timescale on that.”

This morning the prince held an investiture at Windsor Castle and tonight he is attending the London Air Ambulance Gala in central London.
The source told the Daily Mail: “He will make a return to duties on Wednesday, but you should not expect to see him again for a bit after that.”
Following the gala, the prince has cleared his diary to be with Kate and his children next week during their half-term holiday.
The prince has been looking after his wife “hand and foot” since she returned home after spending 13 days in hospital.
According to former royal butler, Grant Harrold, William will ensure that Kate is properly cared for as she recovers.
Harrold said: “He’s a very caring, very loving kind of character and I noticed that a lot when I spent time with them both back in the day.
“I’ve no doubt that wouldn’t have changed, William will make sure Kate is cared for and that she has a quick recovery.”
On Monday, Buckingham Palace announced that the King has been diagnosed with a form of cancer and is stepping back from his public-facing duties for the time being.
