Thomas Tuchel will become head coach of the Three Lions from January 2025.

The German's most recent job was managing Bayern Munich last season.

Bayern massively underperformed last season, not winning the Bundesliga for the first time since 2011/12 season.

However, Tuchel remains a highly regarded coach with the crowning moment of his career coming as the manager of London based club Chelsea.

Tuchel led Chelsea to victory in the prestigious Champions League competition in 2021 despite them being underdogs against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

England players who had fallen out of favour with Gareth Southgate including Mason Mount, Ben Chilwell and Reece James all featured in Tuchel's triumphant Chelsea team.

The appointment should also be good news for England captain Harry Kane who had a strong relationship with Tuchel at Bayern Munich last season.

Kane finished as the Bundesliga's top goal scorer under Tuchel's coaching.
