The Prince of Wales flew to Germany to watch England play Denmark in the Euros

Prince William was spotted singing along to the national anthem - God Save The King - whilst he attended the England Euros game in Germany this evening.

The prince skipped the third day of Royal Ascot and flew to Germany to watch the Three Lions take on Denmark in the Euros.

In a traditional manner, the England team sang the national anthem before the game with the camera panning afterwards to show the Prince of Wales clapping enthusiastically.

William attended the match without his wife or children just a day before his 42nd birthday.

Princess Kate has been recovering in private since it was revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer.

The future Queen did make an appearance at Trooping The Colour over the weekend but the Palace has stated that fans should not see this as a return to her royal duties.

In addition, the match has fallen on a school night for Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six so the Prince of Wales has flown solo.

William, president of the Football Association, faced criticism last year for not attending the Women's World Cup final in Australia when the Lionesses lost to Spain.

It was the first time the Lionesses had reached the final of a World Cup, and the first time an England football team had competed in a World Cup final since the men's side beat West Germany in 1966.

William reportedly harboured concerns over the length of the journey, with the game being played in Sydney, Australia.

At the time, the royal was forced to issue an apology to the Lionesses following the public outrage.

Speaking alongside Princess Charlotte in adorable footage, the Prince of Wales said: "We’re sorry we couldn’t be there in person. We’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved and the millions you’ve inspired here and around the world."

Spanish royalty was present at the final, with Queen Letizia travelling to Australia.

She was accompanied by her daughter Infanta Sofia, 17, to show the country’s "commitment" to national football.

Prince William missed out on attending the third day of Royal Ascot to fly to Germany.

He attended yesterday alongside his mother-in-law Carole Middleton and Queen Camilla.
