Prince William stepped out for his first engagement since taking on a major role from King Charles.
The Prince of Wales attended an event at the Royal Society in London on Thursday just days after his father handed over the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps.
The prince celebrated the global efforts to tackle antimicrobial resistance and build stronger health systems, food security and climate resilience.
On arrival, the prince was pictured shaking hands with guests before being seated on the front row of the conference entitled The World Together Solving the Antibiotic Emergency.

Antimicrobial resistance occurs when the microbes that cause infections develop resistance to treatments like antibiotics making infections almost difficult or impossible to treat.
During the event, the prince is set to hear from survivors of antimicrobial resistance and Lord Darzi who will give an update on The Fleming Initiative.
Last July, the prince became a patron of the appeal to establish the initiative which will drive a worldwide movement to tackle antimicrobial resistance.
The prince will then make a short speech followed with a private reception at St James’ Palace for those who attended the conference.

On Monday, King Charles arrived by helicopter at an Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop for a rare father and son appearance.
William joked and laughed with his father as the monarch handed over the Colonel-in-Chief role, which he held for 31 years.
Charles’s youngest son, Prince Harry, was formerly attached to the regiment during his second tour of Afghanistan until 2014.

LATEST ROYAL NEWS:
It was widely thought that Prince Harry would take over the role until he stepped back from royal life.
The 75-year-old monarch admitted that the handover was “tinged with great sadness” but hoped that the Army Corps would continue to go from “strength to strength.”
Charles said: “Let me just say what a great joy it is to be with you even briefly on this occasion but also it is tinged with great sadness after 32 years of knowing you all, admiring your many activities and achievements through the time that I've been lucky enough to be colonel-in-chief of the Army Air Corps.
“I do hope you'll go from strength to strength in the future with the Prince of Wales as your new colonel-in-chief. The great thing is he's a very good pilot indeed - so that's encouraging.”
