Prince William's Earthshot Prize Awards have been labelled “game-changing” by a high-profile A-list celebrity.
Cate Blanchett, the popular Australian actress, will be travelling to Singapore with the Prince of Wales in November.
The 54-year-old Oscar-winning actress will participate in the third annual awards presentation next month by introducing the prize winners.
Blanchett said: “The climate solutions showcased by the prize are wildly exciting – exciting because they are so simple, so possible, and so inevitable.
“The solutions are game-changing, and like all truly game-changing ideas, they have a strange ‘how could we not have thought and implemented this before?!’ quality.
“I am proud to be a small part of unveiling the winners.”
Each prize winner will receive £1million at the ceremony, which takes place in Southeast Asia on November 7.
The money will help the winners find solutions to the most urgent climate issues facing the planet.

Blanchett has been an Earthshot Council member since 2020.
She added: “The Earthshot Prize is, again, highlighting and incentivising courageous, progressive, and inventive solutions that can be rapidly upscaled.
“We don’t have time for inaction and despair, and the incredible climate solutions from around the globe are cause for genuine hope.”
Robert Irwin, the son of the late Steve Irwin, actress Lana Condor, and South African actress and activist Nomzamo Mbatha will join Blanchett in announcing the winners of the event.
