Prince William faces a decision on whether to bring Prince George to the second leg of Aston Villa's Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain following a heartbreaking result last week.

The Prince of Wales, 42, took his 11-year-old son to watch the first leg of the European quarter final at the Parc des Princes in Paris.

Before the clash, William revealed he wanted his son to experience "a big away night in Europe" as they watched the match together.

The father and son celebrated wildly and shared a heartwarming hug when English international Morgan Rodgers broke the deadlock to put Villa 1-0 ahead.

The celebrations were cut short as the French champions went on to win the fixture 3-1, leaving the royals heartbroken.

The West Midland side now prepare to host PSG at Villa Park on Tuesday in the second leg of the tie.

They will need to overcome a two-goal setback as Unai Emery's side hope to advance to the semi-finals.

Although not confirming his attendance, Prince William is expected to be among the 40,000 fans at Villa Park.

It is still unclear if Prince George will join him as he is currently on an Easter half-term break from school.

The Prince of Wales did confirm he would attend the first leg to journalists, saying, "See you in Paris" after Villa's convincing victory over Club Brugge in the previous round.

Speaking to TNT on his decision to bring George, William said: "Those memories are really important to create and bringing him away is important."

The Prince of Wales admitted he had left Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis at home.

Following the clash, Prince William took to social media to encourage Villa fans before the second leg on Tuesday.

He wrote: "A big night in the Champions League under the lights. Not the result we wanted, but it's not over yet! Bring on the second leg at Villa Park! UTV."
