Prince William is facing a "real burden" as he prepares to support the King on his first trip abroad since facing his cancer diagnosis, it has been claimed.
The Prince of Wales will accompany his father to France to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
Discussing the upcoming trip on GB News, royal biographer Angela Levin claimed the King and Prince William have "never been closer", and "need each other more than ever" amid the ongoing rift with Prince Harry.
Levin told host Mark Dolan that they are supporting each other after Prince Harry has behaved "abominably" towards the Royal Family in recent years.
Levin explained: "They are very close because they've both had the very, very difficult feeling of a close friend, a close member of the family who's behaved abominably.
"They have worked together on climate change and plastic and all those things. And also they've had a loved one who's been very ill so they need each other very badly."
Levin added that it is "wonderful" to see the King and Prince of Wales so close, and they "work very well" together.

Mark agreed, praising William: "Clearly William is doing a lot of the heavy lifting in terms of his public royal duties, but also as a son.
"There's an emotional support there as well."
Levin added: "Also as a father and a husband, I think he's got a huge thing to do. He wants to do absolutely the maximum, maximum he can for his wife and the maximum he can for his father and the maximum amount for the country. So it's a real burden.
"But when he goes out, he seems not to show anything that's heavy and not moaning. And he does his absolute best. I think we should be very proud of him."

Ahead of his visit to France, Levin also praised King Charles's health and attitude since returning to duties, hailing his "friendly and beaming" nature in recent weeks.
Levin said of King Charles's appearance at the royal garden party: "Even to see them at the garden party, Camilla had a pale pink dress on and he had a pale pink waistcoat. I've never seen him anything like that. It was fun, it was interesting.
"He looks so happy. He's beaming, he's friendly, he's laughing, cracking jokes all the time.
"And that's really what will help him get better, as well as all the things that the doctors want to give him."
