Prince William has sparked a major change at two football teams, including his beloved Aston Villa, through his Earthshot Prize.
The Prince of Wales, 41, has helped the sustainable company Notpla trial its environmental cartons at the West Midlands club he supports.
Prince William shares a personal link with Notpla because, in 2022, they won the Build a Waste-Free World Earthshot prize.
The company's products were then used to create packaging for the Earthshot Burger, which William handed out at Maltby Street Market in July.

In terms of Aston Villa, food such as burgers and hotdogs have been served in cardboard containers with a seaweed-derived coating instead of a plastic film since the start of their season.
This has since allowed cartons to be recycled.
Trials have also taken place at the fellow Premier League club Tottenham.
This eco-friendly change has come about just as Prince William will be flying out to Singapore next month for his Earthshot Prize Awards.

The third Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony will be held on November 7.
The co-founder and chief executive of Notpla, Pierre Paslier, spoke about William initiating the trial at Aston Villa.
He said: "He connected us, he made that connection happen."
Referring to Villa and Tottenham, Paslier added: "Two very first, significant trials that brought us to the attention of the catering companies that we could actually do something about reducing the production of their plastic waste.

"That’s been really exciting, to have a chance of being around the table and present for what we do, and now what’s really exciting is how do we turn those three, four stadiums into 40, 50 and this is what we’re hopefully announcing in the coming quarter."
William is expected to fly to Singapore by a commercial not private flight, and other measures will be taken to ensure the awards show is as sustainable as possible.
