Prince Harry feels that the Royal Family should be “happy and grateful” that he is “prepared to try to forgive” amid feud with William, according to a royal commentator.

Tom Quinn, a royal author and commentator has spoken about Harry being unable to see his “own part” in the ongoing family tensions.

The relationship between Harry and the rest of his family has been strained since he and Meghan released a Netflix series and sat down for an interview with Oprah criticising aspects of the Royal Family.

Quinn said: "Harry feels he is the one who has been wronged and that the rest of the family should be happy and grateful he is prepared to try to forgive.

“He doesn’t see his own part in the family bust-up.”

During a trip to Canada this month the prince had an interview with Good Morning America where he declared his love for his family and emphasised the “strength of the family unit coming together.”

Quinn told The Daily Mirror: “This is why he went on Good Morning America to say ‘I love my family’ – it plays brilliantly with the American public and gives Harry the chance to step once more into the limelight and to play the role of the mature character able to forgive the terrible wrongs he has suffered.”

Prince Harry has been vocal about his relationship with the British press in his tell-all memoir Spare and Harry and Meghan’s Netflix series.

In 2019, the Duke of Sussex issued a statement where he described how “painful” the “false and malicious” press had been for him and his wife.

It came after Meghan launched legal action against the Mail on Sunday for publishing parts of a private letter she sent to her father, Thomas Markle.

Quinn went on to say that the “trouble with being Harry is that for all his complaints about the media he feels lost when the media ignore him.

“Being the focus of the world attention may be a pain but being ignored is worse. Expanding the olive branch as Harry appears to be doing, brings the kind of publicity he loves.”

Footage from Harry’s interview with Good Morning America will be used in the documentary which will air on ABC News and stream on Hulu.

During the documentary a royal commentator, Robert Jobson, claimed that “there was a degree of jealousy” from Prince William over how well Harry’s Invictus Games had gone.

Jobson said: "I do think that William was surprised how much this had been such a success and how much money was being thrown into it and how many governments were getting involved."
