The Duchess of Sussex has remained in the US while her husband undertakes engagements in Vancouver

Prince Harry got his first tattoo in a solo trip without Meghan Markle.

The Duke of Sussex was spotted visiting a tattoo parlour in New York back in September, sparking fan speculation.

The Invictus Games shared a social media video on November 19 that shows rapper Jelly Roll holding up an ink gun near the royal's neck.

The Duke of Sussex accepted getting his first temporary tattoo in exchange for the rapper's attendance at the upcoming Games for wounded service men and women, which will be held in Vancouver in February.

The video, titled A Deal is a Deal, was a comedic sketch in which the rapper appears to trick Prince Harry into getting a tattoo.

Prince Harry said: "I came here to ask you to do the Invictus Games. There's no tattoo in this. I can't get a tattoo."

After the pair agreed on the deal, Prince Harry added: "Alright, screw it. Let's go. Let's do it. Where do you want it?"

The rapper insists the Duke of Sussex "goes for the neck" in a hilarious exchange.

Harry replies: "I was thinking my lower back or my a**e"

Jelly Roll adds: "Nobody wants to see your a**e Harry. This is for the world."

With some hesitation, the rapper tells Harry that he has "practically" done this before, leaving the prince with a worried expression.

Screaming in pain, Harry said: "Ah, that hurts."

After looking in a handheld mirror, Prince Harry seemed shocked to see the result, asking, "What's that? It's enormous."

The rapper quickly exits the parlour, leaving Prince Harry in distress.

Jelly Roll, who has won country music awards, will appear at the closing ceremony in Vancouver on 16 February.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have embarked on a separation of their professional lives and have pivoted to solo public appearances rather than joint engagements over the last few months.
