There were major inconsistencies between Prince Harry's memoir Spare and a heartbreaking new scene in The Crown.

Netflix dropped its final season of the popular royal show today, which consisted of four episodes mainly about Diana, Princess of Wales.

The fourth episode, titled Aftermath, showed King Charles, Prince William, and Prince Harry come to terms with their loss.

The day after Diana's tragic death, the Royal Family went to church on the Balmoral Estate.

During the episode, Dominic West, who played Charles as the Prince of Wales, could be seen hugging the actors playing Princes William and Harry after the church service.

When the Duke of Sussex released his autobiography Spare in January 2023, he wrote about how his father did not hug him after Diana died.

He wrote: “Pa didn’t hug me. He wasn’t great at showing emotions under normal circumstances, how could he be expected to show them in such a crisis?"

“His hand did fall once more on my knee and he said, ‘It’s going to be OK.’

"That was quite a lot for him. Fatherly, hopeful, kind. And so very untrue.”

Prince Harry added: “[Dad] sat down on the edge of the bed. He put a hand on my knee.

"‘Darling boy, Mummy’s been in a car crash.’

“I remember thinking: Crash … OK. But she’s all right?

"Yes? I vividly remember that thought flashing through my mind.

"And I remember waiting patiently for Pa to confirm that indeed Mummy was all right.

"And I remember him not doing that.”

The Crown's decision to include a hugging scene between Charles and his sons was a direct contradiction to the Duke of Sussex's memoir.
