Prince Harry is in a legal battle with the UK's Home Office over his right to police protection

  • Royal family rift means Harry rarely returns to UK
  • Duke of Sussex refusing to come back to Britain without security
  • Harry also wants police protection for Archie and Lilibet

Prince Harry is reportedly "putting his foot down" over his security arrangements in the UK, as his legal battle with the Home Office continues.

The Duke of Sussex has been embroiled in a lengthy court case over his right to police protection in the country, after being denied it.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as working royals in 2020, meaning he was denied automatic police protection during his following visit to the UK.

A three-day hearing, mostly held behind closed doors due to privacy concerns, concluded earlier this month with a ruling yet to be delivered.

Prince Andrew also lost his security protection, after being advised to step back from working royal life in 2019.

The royals could both fight for their right to police protection if Prince Harry wins his case against the Home Office.

Prince Harry has also fought for the protection rights of wife Meghan Markle and their children, Archie and Lilibet.

Discussing the Duke's security arrangements on GB News, Editor in Chief of Majesty Magazine Ingrid Seward said Prince Harry has "put his foot down" against the British Government.

Seward revealed: "Harry's been very clear that he doesn't want to come to the UK unless he has the kind of protection he expects.

"And with this ongoing court case with the Home Office, he's really put his foot down on this.

"King Charles last summer apparently invited them [Harry and Meghan] to Balmoral, which they turned down."

The security battle comes amid continued rocky relations between the couple and the Royal Family, as they were absent from the royal Christmas festivities at Sandringham.

Seward revealed King Charles "wants to see Harry and the grandchildren", and reports claim Prince Harry called his father from his California home over the Christmas period.

She added: "Meghan and Harry need the King and his blessing far more than the King needs them, sadly.

"I feel we will be seeing them in the UK, certainly Harry, because he's got to reappear for some court cases."
