The Duke of Sussex is understood to not be on speaking terms with Prince William or King Charles

Prince Harry has offered a fresh "olive branch" to Prince William and Princess Kate amid their feud, according to an insider.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, returned to the UK on April 8 to appeal against a High Court ruling on his security protection.

Harry has been taking legal action against the Home Office over a decision made by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures in February 2020 concerning the level of protection he should receive when in the country.

The now Californian-based royal has argued that his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, cannot "feel at home" or "safe" in the UK unless his police protection is fully restored.

During his return, Prince Harry is understood not to have met with any members of the Royal Family, instead the duke was seen enjoying meals with former school and Army friends.

Harry, who is understood to not be on speaking terms with his brother or King Charles, stayed at Coworth Park hotel, just a short drive away from William and Kate’s residence, Adelaide Cottage.

The Prince and Princess of Wales live in a four-bedroom home on the grounds of Windsor Castle with their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

Close business friends of the Duke of Sussex told the Express that his “accommodation decision, which was relayed to Wills and Kate through security services, was seen as a potential olive branch to make peace after so many years estranged”.

Instead, William opted to travel to Paris with Prince George to watch his beloved Aston Villa side take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-final.

The insider noted: “Harry really is keen to try to salvage some kind of relationship or even reopen dialogue.

“They have not had any full-length conversations or discussions since they had some time together around the Queen’s passing.

"And some of us saw Harry being so close to his brother as a gesture of saying ‘hey I am here, close by... what about us trying to work things out’?"

They added: “The sad thing is that many of us, within Harry’s friends’ circles, feel he wants to somehow make peace and return to talking terms.

“The problem is that so much has been said by him and his wife on TV – and with Netflix for millions of dollars in profit – which can never be taken back.

“While it felt the right thing for Harry to do to cleanse his soul of his darkest feelings on life in the monarchy, his brother and father didn’t share the same outlook.

“Their view remains that a line, actually several lines, were crossed and there is no way of returning to how things were a decade ago.”
