The Queen will feature heavily in the final series of The Crown as it follows the Royal Family up until Charles and Camilla's wedding in 2005.

The Duke of Sussex claimed there had been cooperation with journalists after they produced evidence of him using drugs.

Harry also wrote in Spare that he felt Camilla played the “long game” for marriage to his father and the crown.

He said regarding Camilla: "I have complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar."

Harry added that Prince William "begged" King Charles not to marry Camilla over fears she would become their "wicked stepmother".

However, Olivia Williams said The Crown's creator Peter Morgan has shown a different side of Camilla.

Williams, who will play Camilla in the sixth series of the Netflix drama, said: "I still maintain, again through the script and what my impression is, that Camilla wasn’t hungry for power or thrones or crowns, but that she could see how important acceptance was to Charles, that he needed approval from his family and particularly from his mother for Camilla."

She added: "I think for Camilla, her role and her skill, her sort of special power was that she had raised children and whatever insanity was surrounding Charles in terms of pressure from the Palace and the public, she could have a sort of family perspective on how he could comfort the boys."
