The Duke of Sussex only features in the final episode of the eight-part series

Prince Harry was determined to let Meghan Markle "have her moment to shine" during her Netflix cookery show, insiders have revealed.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, made only fleeting appearances in "With Love, Meghan", which aired last week.

The series will release a second season later this year.

Speaking to People, crew members shared insights into the couple's dynamic behind the scenes.

Harry deliberately kept a low profile during filming to ensure the spotlight remained firmly on his wife's new creative venture.

"Whenever Harry visited set, he was always super polite and friendly. But it was clear he wanted this to be Meghan's moment to shine," one insider told the magazine.

The Duke was often accompanied by the couple's children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, during his visits to the set.

Crew members noted that Meghan, 43, was "super attentive and doting" towards their children.

Despite his friendly demeanour, Harry was careful not to overshadow his wife's project.

The couple's shared hobbies were also revealed by Meghan's close friend Vicky Tsai, founder of Tatcha skincare.

She disclosed that the Duke and Duchess enjoy playing mahjong together.

"She's really creative and curious. She enjoys things that you wouldn't expect like mahjong," Tsai told PEOPLE.

Meghan apparently hosts a weekly mahjong group and has been trying to convince Tsai to join.

The couple have also taken up pickleball, a paddle sport combining elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.

"She and Harry are pretty passionate about pickleball. They are trying to convince me to join the group!" Tsai added.

The Duke was seen at a sunny outdoor brunch hosted by Meghan.

"Oh there he is," Meghan gushed as her husband arrived wearing a casual linen shirt and jeans.

"Good, right?" she asked while showing him the spread of champagne, Mimosas, quiche and other delicacies.

"Well done," Harry assured her. "You did a great job. I love it."

He was later seen raising a glass as Meghan thanked guests for "loving her so much and celebrating with her".
