Harry is fighting for what he considers adequate security

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has highlighted an additional complication in Prince Harry's security concerns for his family in the UK.

Speaking on GB News, Fitzwilliams noted that beyond the ongoing legal battle over security arrangements, "Whether Meghan Markle would want to come is another issue."

This observation adds another layer to the Duke of Sussex's fight for what he considers adequate protection when visiting Britain with his family.

The comment came during a discussion about Harry's persistent concerns regarding security for himself, Archie and Lilibet.

After stepping down as a senior royal, Harry was informed his security would be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

He has maintained this level of protection is insufficient for his needs and those of his family.

The dispute has become a significant point of contention in Harry's relationship with Britain and the royal establishment.

Elaborating on Harry's position, Fitzwilliams told GB News: "You read Spare and you come across feeling someone who is traumatised by his mother's death."

"There is no question that when he stepped down as a senior royal, he was then told his security would be looked at on a case by case basis," the royal commentator continued.

Fitzwilliams added: "He believes that is inferior and that is not good enough for him and his family."

The comments highlight Harry's deep-seated concerns about protection, which appear rooted in his past trauma.

GB News presenter Jacob Rees-Mogg responded to these concerns with a firm stance on taxpayer funding.

He argued that Harry should expect inferior treatment as the British taxpayer cannot be expected to pay for security for someone who doesn't live in the country.

When asked about this position, Fitzwilliams acknowledged: "In theory yes."

Fitzwilliams went on to express understanding for Harry's position despite criticising the couple's broader actions.

"It's very strange, in his mind there is no question he believes he is not getting proper security for him and his family, Archie and Lilibet," he said.

"I can see his point of view. I feel he and Meghan have been desperately destructive in so many details but on this, you can see what he wants for his family and future."
