The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Netflix deal will expire in 2025

Prince Harry has suffered a brutal snub as his Heart of Invictus documentary for Netflix failed to secure an Emmy award nomination.

The Duke of Sussex's five-episode series was released in August 2023 and followed the 2022 Invictus Games in The Hague.

Heart of Invictus missed out in several categories, including Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series, where Sussex rivals David and Victoria Beckham secured a nomination.

The consideration period for the Emmys spanned from June 1 2023 to May 31 2024.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a deal with Netflix in 2020 after they stepped down as working members of the Royal Family.

The couple have so far produced two documentaries for Netflix, the self-titled Harry & Meghan series and Heart of the Invictus.

In February, Netflix confirmed that the Sussexes are working on four new projects including a film.

The Netflix executive indicated the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are working on a "bunch" of projects for the streaming platform including a film and two “unscripted” projects.

Netflix’s chief content officer, Bela Bajara, revealed that over the next 12 months, Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Productions could produce multiple different types of content.

Bajara said regarding the couple: "They actually have a bunch in development," as she spoke at an event in Hollywood where Netflix unveiled their forthcoming films and television shows.

The chief content editor explained that Harry and Meghan are working on "a couple of unscripted things" and a film and series are in "very early development."

Bajaria did not give any further details about what the projects may be about but it is understood that the "unscripted" project may be another
documentary.

Last year, it was announced that the duke and duchess had acquired the rights to the novel Meet Me at the Lake.

It is thought that the new film may be an adaptation of the book by Carley Fortune, which is set in Toronto.
