Jason Knauf declared he 'wouldn't change anything' about his actions

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's former royal aide Jason Knauf has broken his silence in his first television interview, standing firmly by his 2018 bullying allegations against the Duchess of Sussex.

Speaking to 60 Minutes Australia, the former Sussex press secretary made what appeared to be a veiled criticism of his previous employers.

Knauf told 60 Minutes Australia he "wouldn't change anything" and has "no regrets".

He added: "I think it's tough, but it's probably quite good.

"You know someone who has been helping other people through how to deal with the public eye.

"You probably had to take your own medicine sometimes.

"You can't choose just to take the fun stuff in any job, and that applies to the prince and princess too. So, I wouldn't change anything."

Despite the tensions, Knauf acknowledged there were "great times" working with the Sussexes, describing their 2018 Windsor wedding as a "magical experience".

The Duchess of Sussex has consistently denied the bullying allegations, which she described as a "calculated smear campaign".

In 2018, Knauf sent an internal email expressing serious concerns about the Duchess of Sussex's behaviour towards Palace staff.

"I am very concerned that the Duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year. The treatment of X was totally unacceptable," he wrote in the leaked email.

The correspondence continued: "The Duchess seems intent on always having someone in her sights. She is bullying Y and seeking to undermine her confidence."

Knauf reported receiving "report after report from people who have witnessed unacceptable behaviour towards Y".

Buckingham Palace launched an internal review into these claims, though the findings were never made public.

In a deeply personal revelation, Knauf disclosed Prince William was at his "lowest" after learning both his wife and father had cancer within weeks of each other.

"Within a couple of weeks if you're Prince William, you find out that both your wife and your father have cancer. I couldn't believe it. It was awful, absolutely awful," Knauf told the programme.

He also addressed the social media speculation surrounding Kate's absence, explaining the Palace's careful approach to the announcement.

"They didn't want to say yet that she had cancer because they hadn't told the children and they were still working through how to tell the children," he revealed.

Speaking about the brothers' relationship, Knauf said William has chosen to keep his thoughts "private" on the rift with Prince Harry.

"We have ups and downs in family even when you really love someone you can have times when you don't want to spend that much time with them," he explained.
