Prince Harry has had a “lightbulb moment”, former Sun royal editor Charles Rae has claimed, as the duke is showered with praise for a slew of solo engagements.
The Duke of Sussex has embarked on a series of engagements in New York, starting with an appearance at a dinner organised by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
It kicks off a week where the duke, according to his spokesperson, “will be in town to advance a number of his patronages and philanthropic initiatives”.
His charitable appearances drew praise on GB News by Rae, who said they potentially mark a moment of realisation for the 40-year-old.

“We’ve got various events this week where he is looking at an organisation called African Parks and the Halo Trust, the Diana Award and Travel List”, he said.
“This is on top of the various events to do with climate change that he is devoted to, which you can understand.

“It’s actually nice to see Prince Harry doing these sorts of things without uttering one word of criticism of his family. It seems to me that some sort of light bulb has been switched on.
“He’s suddenly realised he doesn’t need to do the Netflix or Spotify or any of the other deals to get by in this world. That’s what we want to see Prince Harry doing.
“It’s great to see him back on these sorts of projects. These are the sort of things he would have been doing as a working royal.”
Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, is not expected to make an appearance at the series of events.

A spokesperson for the Duke outlined his upcoming schedule, stating: "During UN General Assembly High-level Week and Climate Week in New York City, Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, will be in town to advance a number of his patronages and philanthropic initiatives."
The duke attended a charity event over the weekend in California after Meghan reportedly fell ill.
The couple spent time apart during Harry’s 40th birthday celebrations earlier this month.
According to Rae, Harry making solo appearances is a “significant” development.
But he cautioned against reading too much into Meghan’s absence, stating: "Meghan apparently was sick... I'm assuming that was a truthful excuse for not to be there, but she was there last year.
"You would expect that she would have been with him in New York."
He added: "I mean, these two are usually glued together. Let's not forget about that. I don't think we should look at any track in the marriage or anything like that."
