Prince Harry's private 45-minute chat with his father King Charles showed a “cause for optimism”, according to royal insiders.
The Duke of Sussex returned to the UK today after learning his father had been diagnosed with cancer.
The father and son met at Clarence House for 45 minutes, which was the first time they had seen each other since the Coronation last year.
The Duke of Sussex did not see his father or brother during his two recent trips to the UK for his various court case battles.

Harry, 39, spoke to his father on the phone before the King’s diagnosis was made public on Monday.
He flew into London on Tuesday on an overnight flight from Los Angeles and went straight to Clarence House.
Palace officials gave no details on the content of their private 45-minute meeting.
It is understood the King kept their discussion private, however, their reunion has raised the hopes of their royal feud being healed.

One well-placed source told The Express: “I’d have thought that was cause for optimism.”
King Charles and Queen Camilla were seen driving from Clarence House to Buckingham Palace after they met with the Duke of Sussex.
Regarding the King, one royal insider told the publication: “If you didn’t know there was something wrong with him, you wouldn’t know there was something wrong with him.”
Another said: “You’ve seen him smiling and waving this afternoon. He is very positive.”

On Monday, Buckingham Palace released the following statement: “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.
“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.
“The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.
“His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.”
