‘No rapprochement in the offing’ for Prince Harry and King Charles as Christmas approaches

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, and have remained in the US ever since
The chances of a festive reunion between King Charles and Prince Harry has been cast in doubt, as the Duke of Sussex and wife Meghan remain distant from the Royal Family.
Despite some brief visits to London by Harry this year following the news of his father's cancer diagnosis, Harry and Meghan have failed to publicly offer an olive branch to the monarch and the rest of the family.
As the King celebrates his 76th birthday today, the Sussexes have so far remained silent in sending him a message to mark the occasion.
Speaking to GB News, US commentator Maureen Callahan claimed that there is "no rapprochement in the offing" for the royal father and son.

Citing the ongoing health issues of Meghan Markle's father, Thomas, Callahan claimed that the couple are "ever on the outside" of their families despite battling health crises.
Callahan explained: "Harry and Meghan are ever on the outside as their family members are battling these very catastrophic illnesses.
"It seems Kate is on the mend, thank God, but Charles seems to be really quite ill.
Delivering her verdict on whether the Sussexes will spend Christmas in the UK with the Royal Family, Callahan was doubtful, telling GB News: "As the holidays approach, it seems there is no real rapprochement in the offing for Harry and Charles. And it's sad."

GettyHighlighting the ordeals that the Royal Family have been through this year, Callahan noted how "open" they have been about "showing emotion" to the public.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Callahan stated: "It was a big story here in the US of Charles giving that address during his tour of New Zealand, and Camilla breaking down when he talked about hoping to be well enough to return.
"How remarkable that was for a family that prides itself on never showing emotion in public. That was alarming."
Reacting to William's recent admission of his "brutal" year with Kate's cancer diagnosis, Callahan continued: "Then you have Kate's return and William publicly saying that this year has been brutal.
"That's the equivalent of William opening a vein in public - that was a remarkable statement."

Weighing in on the state of royal relations between the monarchy and the Sussexes, host Nana Akua argued that the couple's behaviour is "very ugly" towards them, especially with them battling a double cancer crisis.
Nana told GB News: "Even if you liked them, things that might put you off could be the stuff where, as far as we know, she still hasn't gone to see her very sick father.
"You can send out a thousand jams to people you don't know and act like you care, but deep down, what is underneath that?
"That's very, very ugly sort of behaviour."
