The Duke of Sussex presented an award at Kevin Costner's One805Live! Concert, which saw singer Richard Marx accidentally walk past the royal.
Prince Harry's wife, Meghan Markle, was forced to remain at home due to ill health.
The Don't Mean Nothing hitmaker graced the stage and sang a series of his most iconic songs.
The royal waited backstage to congratulate him on the performance which took place at Costner's sprawling ocean-side estate.
Harry presented an award to local pilot Loren Courtney for her outstanding achievements.
The father of two made a joke during his speech claiming that they both felt more comfortable flying helicopters than being onstage.

It was a celebrity-packed event, including the likes of Rob Lowe, Pink and Jeff Bridges.
Following his set, Marx, 61 was caught on camera exiting the stage and being introduced to Prince Harry, who had been patiently stood at the sidelines.
In the clip which was uploaded to social media, it saw the singer almost walk straight past the duke.
Marx's wife Daisy Fuentes took to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes action which showed their interaction and how they caught up up.

A man off-camera sweetly pointed Marx in the right direction and he went straight up to Harry and was enthusiastic about exchanging a few words.
Guiding him to Harry he was heard saying: “Richard? Prince Harry,” which left the singer looking shell-shocked.
The singer-songwriter was shocked to see his presence. Once they locked eyes, Harry was spotted reaching out for a handshake.
Before the clip cut out, the royal was heard saying: “Hey! Well done.”
