The Duke of Sussex diligently made notes in a black leather notebook, sending a strong message that he is eager to be across the legal details of this case.

None of the claimants, including Prince Harry, were formally required to be at the hearing on Monday.

The preliminary High Court hearing is scheduled to last four days.

The Daily Mail's publisher has described the allegations as "preposterous smears".

ANL denies the allegations and a preliminary will consider legal arguments and a judge will decide whether it will go any further.

It comes as King Charles is "too busy" to see Prince Harry during the Duke of Sussex's surprise trip to the UK.
