Prince Harry is taking part in a three-day High Court hearing as his British security battle continues

Prince Harry has been criticised by Historian and Broadcaster Rafe Heydel-Mankoo, as the Duke's legal battle for protection in the UK continues today.

The Duke of Sussex is in the High Court as part of an appeal against the Home Office over his security arrangements whilst in the UK.

Due to privacy concerns, the sessions are being held mostly behind closed doors, and a privacy order has been issued for the three day hearing.

Prince Harry is reported to have accused the Home Office of treating him "unfairly" when he was denied automatic right to police protection when visiting the UK.

The Duke's latest legal move has faced widespread criticism by royal experts.

Former Royal Protection Officer, Dai Davies, told GB News that Harry's appeal is "yet another Harry storm in a teacup".

In a discussion about the latest court showdown, which has spanned over three years, Rafe Heydel-Mankoo said he has "no sympathy" for the Duke.

Heydel-Mankoo added that Prince Harry believes he is "entitled".

Heydel-Mankoo told GB News: "This case boils down to essentially Prince Harry believing that he's entitled to all of the perks and privileges of royalty, without any of the obligations and responsibility.

"It's also actually worth pointing out that this is Prince Harry taking his father's government to court, and that's completely without precedent. We've never seen a royal do anything like this."

Heydel-Mankoo explained: "Now of course Prince Harry is alleging that he's been treated unfairly, that he's been singled out. But the Home Office is quite clear and refutes that and says. you are no longer a member of the of the working Royal Family and therefore your security status must be downgraded.

"He alleges there are members of the royal household who are sitting on the committee that revoked his security status. But they say this would have happened to whoever was sitting on the on on the committee."

Host Eamonn Holmes then asked the historian if Prince Andrew was also in a similar security position, following his removal as a working senior royal, and he confirmed the Duke of York also had his security stripped.

Heydel-Mankoo explained: "His security has been stripped from him as well. He is also complaining about it, but not quite so vocally and vociferously. He's having discussions behind closed doors about this too.

"But it's not really an issue for for for the King. This is a matter, for the Metropolitan Police and for the committee to look at. It's a matter of operational issues and essentially they said look, you are actually getting royal protection, you're getting a bespoke level of royal protection.

"Like any dignitary who comes, we will view each visit on its own merits and you'll get the right level of security appropriate to that visit."
