New king's estranged son will immediately head back to the airport and return to California after historic ceremony

Prince Harry is set to fly out of Britain just hours after jetting in for his father's Coronation.

The 38-year-old is planning to be "in and out" of the UK inside 24 hours and wants to return home to Montecito for son Archie's birthday party.

The Duke of Sussex, who is fifth in line to the throne, will attend the ceremony in Westminster Abbey on Saturday while wife Meghan remains in the US.

But he will head straight back to the airport after his father is crowned king so he can return to their Californian mansion, where Archie will be celebrating his fourth birthday with sister Lilibet and his friends.

A source told the Sun: “Harry will be in and out of the UK in 24 hours. He will only be doing the Coronation service then leaving.”

The Coronation service starts at 11am and ends at 1pm so Harry could be in the air by 3pm, the paper claims.

Friends of the couple are looking forward to Archie's party, which will also be attended by his gran Doria Ragland.

The celebrations have been given as one key reason that Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has decided to stay in America and not attend her father-in-law's historic Coronation.

Meghan's family will not be attending Archie's birthday party after they decided to join forces for a warts-and-all documentary on the former actress, to be broadcast tonight.

They have handed over “home truths and secret tapes” in a tell-all documentary of dirty laundry to be aired just days before King Charles III formally ascends to the throne.

Billed as the family’s collective “last ever” interview and promising to reveal “Meghan Markle as you’ve never seen her before”, the documentary is due to premier on Australia’s Channel 7 on Sunday.

The former Suits star last week signed with a major Hollywood talent agency that boasts her friend tennis star Serena Williams, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as clients.

Meghan, 41, joined William Morris Endeavor (WME), which will represent her on film, television and other projects.

It said in a statement: "We are honored to announce that WME now represents Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in all areas."

The agency will be focusing on building out her business ventures across multiple facets of the agency and its broader ecosystem, including film and television production, brand partnerships, and more."

WME will also assume representation of her and Prince Harry's 'content creation label', under their Archewell Foundation.

The news of Harry's whistle-stop visit comes as a Tory MP urged Prince Harry not to give any interviews following his appearance at the Coronation.

Tim Loughton previously created a storm by tweeting Harry should “shut the f*** up”.

Mr Loughton, the MP for East Worthing and Shoreham in Sussex, also once said he was irritated by the fact Meghan and Harry were linked to the country he represents.

Sussex MP pleads with Prince Harry to keep quiet ahead of the Coronation

Speaking to GB News, Mr Loughton said: “Look, of course, he should come to the coronation. He's the King's son.

"What's the problem with that? But my constituents have been saying to me, 'Why do I have to have somebody who keeps making these rather annoying comments, and flogging books while representing the ancient county of Sussex.'"

"That was my frustration.

“He is the son of the King. He is still a Duke. He's entitled to come to the Coronation.

"His father would want him to be at the Coronation, but I hope he doesn't give any more interviews about it to some of the people for his books.

"That way we can concentrate on what's going to be a fantastic, important and historic occasion next weekend.”
