Prince Harry is "attempting a gradual re-entry" into the working Royal Family after "communication lines opened" between him and King Charles, it has been claimed.
Following the Duke of Sussex's 40th birthday, insiders claimed that the monarch has "hopes of mending relations with his youngest son" and was "sure that the King will have spoken to Harry on his birthday".
In a shock move by the Royal Family, both the King and the Prince and Princess of Wales wished Harry a happy birthday on social media, breaking a two-year silence of mentioning the Duke on their platforms.
Speaking to GBN America, commentator Maureen Callahan has claimed that Harry is now "attempting a gradual re-entry" into the working royal circle once again, despite stepping down four years ago for a life in America with wife Meghan Markle.

Callahan claimed: "I think what's happening here is that Harry is attempting to make a very soft, gradual re-entry.
"The paperback of his memoir is coming out next month, and he pulped the extra chapter of additional new information. It seems like a very small but meaningful steps to try to make his way back into the fold."
Noting the Prince's recent string of solo engagements in New York without the Duchess, Callahan told GBNA that Harry is "making a play without Meghan" in order to be "taken seriously" as a working royal.
Callahan explained: "Harry is in New York City this week. It's UN week in the city, and he's been having dinners with Queen Mathilde of Belgium, he's attending all these symposia - he's making a play without Meghan.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Turning the discussion to the Royal Family and their birthday messages to Harry, Callahan claimed that communication between the estranged Duke and his father have "opened up" again.
She told GBNA: "We're also hearing that communication lines have begun opening up again between Harry and Charles.
"But he also knows that time is running out. Charles is being treated for cancer, he’s an old man. If he does not make his way back into good graces with Charles while he has the chance, he’s never going to have that chance with William."
Suggesting another possible reason why Prince Harry would want to attempt a re-entry into the working Firm, Callahan noted that he "no longer has the money" he used to receive as a working member.

Callahan said: "He no has longer access to the money that he would have had as a working royal."
In defence of the Duke, host Nana Akua claimed that the money would be a "drop in the ocean" compared to what he and Meghan are most likely earning now.
Nana responded: "He got a little bit of money on his 40th, people have said it's about £8million, but that would be like a drop in the ocean when you've got a mansion and all the other stuff.
"Plus all of the legal battles that he's trying to fight, I don't know why he hasn't stopped with those."
