The screen behind him then displayed phone lock screen pictures of children who had died after taking their own life.

The Duke of Sussex continued: "These children and thousands more, meant the world to their families.

"The beautiful faces you see before you, their smiles, their dreams, all lost, all too soon and all because of social media.

"It is why we launched the Parents Network, a global community that provides crucial support to parents whose children have suffered from the harmful effects of social media.

The Duke of Sussex is in New York this week to undertake multiple solo engagements on behalf of charities and organisations he represents.

Harry's speech today at the Clinton Foundation's event was on behalf of his Archewell Foundation's Parents Network.

Meghan Markle, Archie and Lilibet have stayed in California rather than joining the duke in New York.

The royal was on stage at the 2024 Concordia Annual Summit as he took part in a panel on mental health representing the Diana Awards.

However, before the engagement began, Harry gave his family a virtual mini tour of the event space at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel.

Harry's solo appearances will extend beyond New York as next Monday, he is scheduled to host the WellChild Awards in London.
