The Duke of Sussex arrived at the High Court in London today to appeal against the rejection of his legal challenge on his security arrangements

Prince Harry has been accused of "deliberately trying to upstage his father" as he arrived at the High Court today for his "last chance saloon" appeal over his security arrangements in the UK.

As the Duke of Sussex arrived at the London court, his father King Charles and Queen Camilla have met with Italian President Sergio Mattarella and his daughter Laura Mattarella at the Quirinale Palace in Rome, during their state visit to Italy.

The King and Queen are also set to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary during their state visit, and have released official photographs to mark the special occasion.

Speaking to GB News, Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker claimed Harry's court appearance is "horrific timing" for the King, and suggested the duke is "upstaging" his father's state visit.

Cameron told GB News: "What horrific timing. Just a couple of minutes before expecting the King and Queen to arrive at the presidential palace here in Rome, Prince Harry has arrived at the Royal Courts of Justice in London.

"This is really the last chance saloon for Prince Harry and his case against the Home Office. His security was downgraded when he stood back as a working royal in 2020.

"He disagreed with that, he took the British Government to court and of course lost that initial case.

"Now he's appealing it, and it appears that he wants to be there in person to look the High Court judges directly in the eye to plead his case."

On Harry's decision to appear in person at the court, Cameron added that royal staff to the King and Queen may be "miffed" that the prince is "overshadowing the state visit".

Cameron stated: "We're expecting a joint flypast as well between the British RAF Red arrows and the French Tricolore, so it is the kind of symbolism of the joint military operations between the UK and Italy.

"But nonetheless, I think the King and his staff may be a little bit miffed that Prince Harry has decided to slightly upstage his father here."

Delivering his verdict on the appearance by Harry, Britain's Newsroom host Andrew Pierce suggested that the duke is "deliberately trying to upstage the Royal Family yet again", as he "did not need to be there in court today".

Cameron agreed, explaining: "I suppose on the one hand, the date of the court case is set by the courts. But you're right, he doesn't absolutely need to be there.

"I suspect that it probably didn't cross his mind - and if it did, I don't think that was going to stop him. But state visits, of course, are planned months in advance."

Highlighting the state of relations between the prince and his father, Cameron stressed that Harry "isn't really abrest" of the King's diary, following the claims that he was unaware of the monarch's recent visit to hospital.

Cameron told GB News: "We know that Prince Harry isn't really abrest of King Charles diary - it's reported that he didn't find out that the King was in hospital a few weeks ago until he he read it in the news himself. So he wasn't given any kind of heads up.

"And I think when he was given the news that his father had cancer, it was a very similar situation here. So clearly they're not on the best of speaking terms."

He added: "But of course, I think the King's focus is going to be on the fact that it is his anniversary tomorrow with Queen Camilla, 20 years of happy marriage.

"They clearly are very much part of a team, and I think Queen Camilla is his rock really, particularly over this cancer diagnosis over the last year or so."
