Prince George and Prince William have arrived in Paris to support Aston Villa in their first leg against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-final.

The Prince of Wales is a devoted Villa supporter, confirming his plans to travel to Paris following the club's previous European fixture.

However, the Prince of Wales has no confirmed that he is joined by his oldest son Prince George, 11, in a significant U-turn over his son's support.

Although George has previously attended a Villa match this season, William stated he would prefer his children to choose their own teams rather than follow Villa because of him.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Prince William revealed he was "terrified" for the fixture before explaining that he wanted George to experience a European away day.

He said: "It's been a while coming, so it's a big game."

"I am nervous, but I am also excited by the prospect."

The Prince of Wales told pundits that he is wearing "all my lucky clothes" and "done all my routines" to "bring some luck tonight.

William praised the Villa manager, Unai Emery, describing him as a "gentleman" before praising his tactical setup.

Speaking about bringing Prince George to the game, he added, "I've got my son here, so I am on my best behaviour.

"I thought it's been 43 years since anything like this has happened in my generation as a Villa fan, and I want George to experience a night out away from home in a big European competition. I hope it's not 43 years until the next one, but I think those memories are really important.

"Bringing him along tonight is a big deal to me. I am generally very open to whoever they support, but obviously I am a bit biased, but also they come to the top games with Villa, they are going to probably support Villa."

The Prince of Wales added that he "left the other two at home", referring to Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

William has previously said that he watches matches at home with all three children, who each have an Aston Villa shirt.

Concluding the interview, William praised Arnseal for their victory against Spanish giants Real Madrid, singling out Engalnd star Declan Rice for his incredible two free-kick goals.

This trip continues his pattern of supporting the Birmingham-based club at major fixtures.
